The theme for the 2008 Bible Literacy
Program is
I Will Hope in Thy Word,
taken from Psalm 119:114. Let 2008 be the
greatest year of promoting Bible Literacy in your church.
Pastors, attempt to implement the
standards of Bible Literacy to become
a 2008 Shining Lamp Church. This an investment with
present and eternal results. We have Bible Reading
Guides for adults, youths and even children. We also
have Spanish Bible Guides. All reading guides are free
of charge and mailed upon request.

Things a Youth Ministries Director/Youth Pastor can do:
· Involve all youth
in the Read The Bible Through program
· Initiate a youth appropriate, relevant, interesting Bible
study each week
· Start a Bible study that will lead to a service project
· Use a game like “Jeopardy” with open Bibles concordances,
dictionaries
· Have a weekly time for youth to discuss pastor’s Sunday
message
· Have youth perform skits about Bible characters and/or Bible
events
· Show the “Jesus Video” or other videos which present key
Bible characters/events
· Have youth to study a particular passage of the Bible and
pantomime it to each other.
· Have youth to study a particular passage of the Bible and
prepare a puppet show to present

· Have youth to produce their own video about a particular
Bible character.
· Each week announce Bible verses relating to a lesson and
invite youth to memorize.
· Dramaticize or role play “persons who met with Jesus.”
· Have a “Last Supper” event with 12 tables and a disciple at
each table. Have the disciple to be ready to identify himself
and tell about his life with Jesus and his life later. Invite
church to attend and go from table to table.
· Develop a program of MEMORIZATION of passages of Scripture
and of other Bible information .
· Try a photo scavenger hunt (with Polaroid). Give out Bible

in the real world that illustrate the texts. At the end have
each group share photos with class.

or other events in the Bible.
