The importance of reading the Word of God cannot be overemphasized. God's word brings strength to our souls, peace to our minds, and health to our bodies. Mission USA understands the importance of reading God's Word and produces Bible reading programs every year. In 2019, Mission USA produced programs with the theme of "what does God say about…?" In a world full of opinions and answers about people's lives, it is vital to know what God says about the situations and circumstances that we all face. It is very encouraging to read and hear about all of the incredible promises that God gives to people. Promises like, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness" (Is. 41:10). God also promises, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end" (Jer. 29:11). The Word of God is full of encouraging and challenging promises that bless everyone who takes the time to dive deep into them.
Hundreds of people across the Congregational Holiness Church took the challenge to complete one, or multiple, of the five Bible reading guides in 2019. These men, women, and students completed their reading guides and sent them in to be recognized for their great accomplishment. Below are pictures of two churches who sent in photos of some of their congregation receiving their 2019 Bible reading challenge certificates.
We are now well into 2020, and Mission USA has once again created new Bible reading guides for this new year. The theme for this year's guides is, "Be still and know." While there may be many uncertainties in our lives, it brings comfort to know that we can be still and know that God is on our side. If you have not started your 2020 Bible reading challenge, you can find all of the different programs here.
May the Lord richly bless you all.
