Go Serve Forsyth
On Saturday, June 21st, Redemption Church in Forsyth, Georgia, took the challenge from Mission USA to Go Serve their community. Pastor Jason Mullis and church family set up at their local Dairy Queen and purchased ice creams for first responders in their community. “It was incredible! We were able to bless so many and get the word out about Redemption Church.”
Members from the church were able to speak to over one hundred people and share the mission and purpose of Redemption Church. Also, 45 first responders were encouraged and blessed by receiving free ice creams at Dairy Queen. While many where encouraged, one encounter proved to be a God encounter. A conversation with a Correctional Officer brought the encouragement that was needed at that moment. This officer had tremendous pressure, was tired, and wore down from the environment in which law enforcement is now working. This man received the reassurance that was needed in his life.
Pastor Jason testifies, “Just to get out into my community, the community I call home, and now I’m able to Pastor in was uplifting! The look on their face when we handed them something as simple as a free ice cream was priceless. My team and I were able to pray and speak life into many nurses, law enforcement officers, and first responders. By planting a seed, I may not be there to water it or see it grow, but a seed was planted!”
