The world needs more encouragement and the joy that comes through Jesus Christ. River of Life Church in Nicholson, Georgia, set out to share the joy of Christ with others for their Go Serve 2020 day called Operation Encouragement. Pastor Jonathan English shares their story below.

"On Saturday, June 27th, our church put out signs of encouragement at Hill Haven Nursing Home as well as at our local police and fire stations throughout Jackson county. We called it Operation Encouragement, and it was a huge success.  A lot of people were encouraged and touched by the signs that our members made containing scriptures and words of encouragement, and that was our goal."

"At a time when our world is filled with anger, hate, and division, we are committed to showing the world that Jesus is the way by putting His love on display.  In John 13:35, Jesus said that all men would know that we were His disciples by our love for one another. It's so refreshing to be able to be an encouragement to others."

"There were a lot of smiles, and even some tears shed as we ministered God's love through Operation Encouragement, and that's why we were there.  Operation Encouragement is just the beginning for us as a church. Last Sunday, we launched our Random Acts of Kindness Initiative to encourage everyone to be a witness and show the love of Jesus to everyone around them during this time."

"If you'd like to learn more about our Random Acts of Kindness Initiative text SHINE to (706)-408-9953.  In Matthew 5:14, Jesus said that we are the light of the world. As the world continues to get darker, It's time for us to shine brighter!" #goserve2020
